The Third Meeting of investment in free zones at the end of its activities on Monday had many recommendations that emphasized the role of free zones in increasing the volume of trade and promoting overall economic development and activation of investment activity in the various sectors of commercial, industrial and service sectors. The final statement  emphasized the importance of the free zones as a gateway to attract investment capital and attracting local, Arab and foreign investment and its role in investing natural and human resources, and contributing to the development of the surrounding areas in the fight against unemployment and create more jobs.
It pointed to the importance of the free zones common to be a  real-effective nucleus of Arab common market and Arab economic integration and exchange of experiences and expertise through the Union of Arab free zones, and develop and activate regulations and legislation governing investment in the Arab free zones to be consistent with the global economic developments and coordination to address the problems and difficulties to investment in addition to a consolidation of efforts between the Arab free zones, institutions and economic actors to face the challenges the Arab and economic risks arising from the global financial crisis.
The statement called on institutions and official bodies to support and activate the role of free zones in the promotion of economic integration and support of the Arab Federation of Free Zones and activating the role of regional offices of the Union in the Member States and to accelerate the development of mechanisms for certification of Arab origin for products manufactured in the free zones and registration of the Arab Federation of Free Zones as an observer in the  Arab Economic and Social Council and enhance the strategic partnership and integration between the Arab free zones and free zones, foreign.
